Snakes in general
Snakes are a suborder of the scalloped reptiles. They descend from lizard-like ancestors. The body has changed a lot over time. Snakes used to have legs. But now they only have a long and slim body. Snakes may look like they don't have tails, but you're wrong. The tail is after the anal opening and mostly tapers. Today over 3600 species are known. With the exception of the Arctic and Antarctic, they can be found in all habitats worldwide.
